Drivers in France prevail over Uber in IC case

Ride-hailing giant Uber lost an appeal in France brought by a former driver who wanted his terms of employment recognized as a fully-fledged work contract, The Local France reported [1].

It follows a similar British court decision last month [2] that said Uber drivers are entitled to benefits like a minimum wage and holiday pay.

The Paris court ruling specifies that the contract between Uber and its former driver was “an employment contract” because the driver was dependent for his work on the ride-hailing app, according to The Local France report.
