It’s a very volatile time for the world of work. The past year has brought a whirlwind of change, and workforce managers face new challenges, but also new opportunities.

Despite concerns about the economy and reports of hiring freezes and layoffs, quality talent remains in the driver’s seat — and they are seeking not just higher pay but remote work options, inclusive cultures, training and advancement opportunities and more.

Pressing topics and innovative solutions for contingent workforce managers to take their programs to the next level will be discussed at SIA’s annual CWS Summit North America, held next week in Dallas with a theme of “Emerging Strategies for Talent, Technology and Risk.” This year’s attendees include workforce program managers as well as human resources and procurement professionals. They gain actionable insights via case studies, topical sessions and networking opportunities.

The 2022 CWS Summit includes 40-plus sessions around the most pressing topics for managing today’s expanded workforce across talent engagement and management; technology solutions; program operations and strategy; and research, risk and compliance. Sessions will cover total talent, contingent labor and unionization, direct sourcing, C-suite involvement, DE&I and much more. Attendees can also participate in facilitated roundtable discussions centered on key issues facing CW program management today. In addition, innovative industry suppliers will provide insights and solutions to managers’ challenges in the program’s “Ideas in Action” discussions.

The conference kicks off with an industry keynote address from Dawn McCartney, VP of SIA’s Contingent Workforce Strategies Council, who will share critical data, trends and best practices for CW program managers to create strategic and competitive CW program roadmaps.

Additionally, noted generations and future of work expert Kim Lear will present “Prepare For The Future Workforce: Building Next-Generation Workplaces and Communities.” Using a generational lens, Lear provides critical insights into where we’ve been, how we got to where we are today and where we may go from here — especially with our employees and contingent labor.

CWS Summit North America 2022 takes place Monday and Tuesday, Sept. 19-20. The two-day event includes facilitated roundtable discussions and networking opportunities as well as sessions covering a wide range of topics. More information is available online.
