The US Department of Labor is accusing Oracle of underpaying thousands of women and minority employees by $401 million over four years, Wired reports. The department announced a lawsuit against the software giant yesterday, alleging the company favors Asians in its hiring practices. As a government contractor, Oracle is subject to an executive order mandating nondiscriminatory practices in hiring and employment on the part of US government contractors.

The Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs filed the complaint last week, seeking, among other things, that Oracle’s federal contracts be cancelled and the company be debarred from further contracts until it proves it has remedied its alleged noncompliance.
