OSHA marks Safe + Sound Week

The US Occupational Safety and Health Administration is marking Safe + Sound Week this week to raise awareness on worker safety.

OSHA describes the week [1] as a “nationwide event to raise awareness and understanding of the value of safety and health programs that include management leadership, worker participation, and a systematic approach to finding and fixing hazards in workplaces.”

The American Staffing Association is an event partner. “Protecting and enhancing temporary and contract employee safety and well-being is very important to ASA and its member companies, and support of Safe + Sound Week underscores this commitment,” ASA General Counsel Stephen Dwyer said. “ASA is proud to serve as a Safe + Sound Week partner, and to collaborate with OSHA and the other sponsors on programs and initiatives to help ensure the safety of the U.S. temporary and contract workforce.”

The week is organized by OSHA, the American Industrial Hygiene Association, the American Society of Safety Engineers, Center for Construction Research and Training, National Safety Council, National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health and the Voluntary Protection Programs Participants’ Association.

Recently, OSHA released new bulletins [2] on temporary worker safety.
