SIA asked staffing firms these and other questions to gauge candidate flow. Among the findings: Professional workers are more than twice as likely to have their assignment extended as commercial workers, but commercial workers were twice as likely to be converted to FTE.

Results remained on par with those found in a similar 2017 survey, with two notable exceptions commercial staffing: The median offer decline rate rose to 21% in 2021 from 12% in 2017, and the median rate at which temps were subsequently placed in another assignment fell from 50% to 30%.
