A year ago, it was very unusual for temporary workers assigned through staffing firms to work remotely from home, with just 2% doing so in 2019, according to staffing executives polled in SIA’s annual Staffing Firm Survey. Amid Covid-19, 50% of staffing firms’ temporary workforces are working from home and staffing executives anticipate that, while the numbers to drop post-pandemic, they will not revert to pre-pandemic levels. Rather, staffing executives foresee about 20% of their temporary workers to be working from home.
