Premium research: US, Japan and UK dominate staffing agency spend

Worldwide, companies spent US $490 billion on contingent labor through staffing firms in 2018, according to Staffing Industry Analysts research. Fourteen countries had at least $5 billion in spend, and together accounted for 87% of the global market in that year.

Three countries together accounted for more than half of that market group: the US, Japan and UK. Given the dominant share represented by the largest markets, these countries tend to drive global and regional trends.
