Each year, we ask large (1,000-pus employees) companies to estimate the percent of their organization’s workforce that is contingent. We define contingent workers as all nonpermanent workers, including the full range of agency temporary workers, internal temporary workers/interns/seasonal workers, independent contractors and statement-of-work consultants, but excluding part-time regular employees.
