Last week, Canada’s British Columbia province extended its provincial nominee tech pilot program until June 2019, Business in Vancouver reports. The program, introduced in 2017 to address job gaps in the BC tech sector, helps fast-track skilled foreign workers to permanent residency. Along with extending the pilot [1], the province is relaxing the requirement that job seekers receive a permanent full-time job offer, instead allowing for workers to qualify with a one-year job offer. Candidates must fall into one of 29 eligible occupations deemed to be in demand in the BC tech sector.
