H-1B workers: Higher costs ahead?; Court’s joint employer case action

Ackerman LLP attorney Rachel Perez writes in a Lexology article about the higher scrutiny on H-1B visa applications coming in the form of questioning wage levels, among others [1], which may portend higher costs ahead for imported talent.

Constangy Brooks Smith & Prophete LLP attorney David P. Phippen recaps an appeals court ruling that remands a joint employer case involving CNN back to the National Labor Relations Board [2]. The court cited the board’s failure to follow its own precedent. Despite the remand, the court did note its agreement on CNN’s joint employer status in the case.
