A federal judge in a lawsuit against online services firm Instacart — where workers claim they were misclassified as independent contractors — criticized an Instacart attorney last week for not notifying the court of a $2 million settlement in a similar case in state court, The Recorder reported.
Attorneys in the state court case filed for preliminary approval of the settlement on July 6, according to records in that case.
