The role of an inspection team created to protect the rights of temp foreign workers in Quebec will be expanded to several sectors of activity and become permanent, the Montreal Gazette reported.

The team was established in 2019 to work for Commission des normes, de l’équité, de la santé et de la sécurité du travail (CNESST) in order to protect the rights of temporary foreign workers in the agricultural sector. The team’s role will be expanded to include Quebec’s hotel and restaurant, retail, manufacturing, food treatment and healthcare sectors permanently.
