The US House of Representatives was expected to vote Tuesday on legislation that seeks to lift the country-cap on issuing green cards, the Economic Times reported. However, according to the US House of Representative’s website, the legislation was referred to the judiciary committee.

Supported by more than 310 lawmakers from both the Republican and the Democratic Party, the Fairness for High-Skilled Immigrants Act was expected to sail through the 435-member House of Representatives.
