Global talent platform adoption in enterprise organizations with more than 1,000 full-time equivalents has increased by a factor of 10 over the past decade, reaching 20% in 2022, according to SIA research.
For enterprises to fully harness and scale expanded usage of freelancers and talent platforms, they must commit to developing organizational processes and internal infrastructure to support and promote it. This does appear to be occurring, as enterprises have become increasingly adept at change management since the start of the pandemic and skill shortages are forcing organizations to explore new ways to address the talent crisis. As enterprises establish cross-functional support across HR, legal and procurement, internal champions are gaining buy-in. Platform companies are also introducing services to help streamline adoption.
