The US unemployment rate edged down to 4.9% in January from 5.2% in December, seasonally adjusted; January’s unemployment rate was the lowest since late 2007. The college-level unemployment rate — which Staffing Industry Analysts considers a proxy for professional employment — was 2.5%, unchanged since June 2015.
