All talent platforms facilitate work arrangements of independent workers. However, according to results of SIA’s 2023 Global Talent Platform Survey, many are branching out from serving independent freelancers exclusively. Statement-of-work contractors and temporary employees are both offered by nearly half of the platforms surveyed. Notably, only 26% of platforms surveyed in last year’s report offered temporary workers, signifying a possible acceleration in the convergence with staffing.
The research also found that 15 of the 23 talent platforms surveyed offer more than one work arrangement in addition to freelancing. Three platforms support all work arrangement types — freelancing, SOW contractors, temporary employees and permanent employees — up from only one platform in last year’s survey.
